The Time Has Come

After two years and 21 quilt-pattern collaborations, the time has come for Modern Service Quilts to head into its own retirement. It’s a bittersweet decision, as endings often are, but we are so proud of what this team and our amazing collaborators have accomplished in that time. Through the generosity of our design partners, more than $8,300 has been donated to worthy veterans’ organizations because of your pattern purchases each month. We hope this seed of inspiration has been planted for modern quilters for years to come, and we’re happy to leave behind this blog for the time being to continue to serve as a source of knowledge and encouragement for your own creative journey in the world of honor and service quilts. As makers, we know the meaning and love that are ingrained in every stitch we take, and we hope this organization has given many of you the guidance needed to use those hands in service of those who serve. Thank you to our wonderful collaborators; Leila Gardunia, who’s tackled our monthly announcement emails; and most importantly, the veterans whose service we honor.
